Saturday, October 28, 2023 by Rose Sage | Career

Imagine being fully funded to undertake a BMus degree and being paid to play your instrument! Not only that, but you'll also be paid to travel all over the world and take part in international events. You'll receive free medical and dental care and even enjoy some adventure training each year when you can do anything you like, from parachuting to kayaking. You'll also have the opportunity to gain promotion within a fully developed career path and earn from £25K to above £60k per annum! If this sounds too good to be true, then watch the video below for some exciting info about spending a few days with the Royal Marines Band Service...

Here's a short story of a young lady who did just that and who is now enjoying a superb career as the Principal Flautist in the Royal Marines School of Music Band.

Making friends - making music!

Music groups are a fabulous way to make new friends and have musical fun together. There are the Devon groups, Devon Youth Wind Orchestra (DYWO), Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra (DYJO), Devon Youth Orchestra, as well as SAMMS on Saturdays in Totnes and South Devon Music Centre on Friday afternoons. Have a look at them and see which you might like to try, they’ll all welcome everyone to pop along, have a look, join in with some playing and decide if it’s for you. The food looks good too 🤩🎶
